When we closed our Bronzeville location, we promised it wasn’t goodbye—just a pause while we searched for the right place to continue our story. Today, we’re proud to announce our return with a brand-new Uncle Remus Saucy Fried Chicken at:
📍 2537 S Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL 60616
(Located inside Picnic: South Loop)
This isn’t our typical freestanding restaurant. Picnic is a dynamic digital food hall—bringing together local restaurants under one roof. Think of it as a next-generation food court, where your favorite meals are just a few clicks away.
How to Order
Order ahead at order.uncleremususa.com for pick-up or delivery.
When your food is ready, you’ll get a text message with a link to let our kitchen know you’ve arrived.
Our team will then run your order to the pick-up window—hot, fresh, and fast.
Reimagining What Uncle Remus Can Be
Since 2020, we’ve been hard at work reimagining the Uncle Remus experience for a new generation of fried chicken lovers. From renovating locations and rolling out new menu drops, to launching our Uncle Remus Rewards app and loyalty program—we’re building Uncle Remus 2.0 from the ground up.
We serve over 1,000 orders a day, and while no one is perfect, we’ve made it our mission to get at least 1% better every single day. Quality and consistency come first, always.
The Reality Behind the Fryers
It’s no secret—costs have risen across the board. From increasing wages and team member benefits like Paid Time Off and Health Insurance, to the same rising food costs, utilities, and rent you see in your own life—running a restaurant today isn’t easy.
Last year, over 524 restaurants in Chicago closed, many due to razor-thin margins and rising expenses. We’re still here because of you.
That’s why in 2023 we created a Pricing Transparency page—to break down exactly where your dollars go. We believe you deserve to know, and it’s part of how we fight every day to keep pricing fair without compromising on quality or our values.
Rooted in Resilience, Powered by You
The fact that Uncle Remus has remained standing since 1969—especially as a Black woman-owned business in an industry where small businesses often struggle to access capital—isn’t just a business story. It’s a community story.
Your trust and support are the reason we’re still here.
This opening is just the beginning of our next chapter—and we can’t wait to serve you.
With love and gratitude,
— The Uncle Remus Team
